LESS laundry detergent leads to CLEANER clothes
Spoiler alert - did you know that using more laundry detergent actually makes your clothes less clean? This is because some of the detergent stays behind on your clothes! Using too much detergent can actually create more stains and leftover residue on your clothes, and impact the environment as greater energy is required from your machine during the wash and spin cycles.
So how much detergent do you actually need? The best advice we can give you is to check the instructions on your detergent bottle. For an average or smaller load, you can get away with using a little less of the recommended amount. For larger or more soiled/dirtier loads, you can add a bit more. A good rule of thumb, if you’re using the detergent cap for measuring, is to fill the cap no more than a third full. Half a cap should be reserved for heavily soiled items.
